Short Bio
Heather makes fables dressed up as ceramic sculpture.
Statement
With a background in ecology and aviation, my work is inspired by the view from very far away and the small regarded minutely. My pieces are stories in themselves meant to touch a place of whimsy and wonder in the viewer. I work with porcelain and stoneware using oxidation or reduction kilns that are high-fired to cone 10. Sculptures are often lit from within and enhanced with gold.
Biography
In addition to making high-fire ceramics, Heather is an ecologist who also pilots strange aircraft.
